Gift Acquisitions

The Indiana University South Bend Libraries welcome donations of books, graphic novels, and Zines which support teaching, learning and research. Of particular interest are scholarly items in good condition, published or produced within the past five years.

Gifts may be delivered to the Schurz Library Circulation Desk. Donors can make advanced arrangements with Kathy Plodowski, Circulation Supervisor (574-520-4380/kplodows@iusb.edu).

Upon receipt, all gift materials become the property of the Indiana University South Bend Libraries. Items may be added to library holdings as first, additional, or replacement copies.

The Libraries reserves the right to determine retention, location, cataloging treatment and other considerations relating to the use and disposition of gifts.

The Indiana University South Bend Libraries are committed to providing socially and environmentally responsible disposition of gift materials not needed for our collection. Materials not selected for addition to our collection may be donated to other institutions, sold, recycled, or discarded. Proceeds from the sale of unwanted materials are used to benefit the Libraries.

Donors are required to complete a Library Donor Agreement Form. Donors may provide an inventory of the materials donated but this is not a requirement. The IU South Bend Libraries will not provide a list of items donated, just a count of the materials.
