Off-Campus Access

Because of licensing agreements, most of the electronic resources/databases linked from this site require an IU South Bend student or staff ID and passphrase. Anyone trying to connect to these services from home using a commercial Internet service provider such as Comcast will have to enter a valid IU South Bend student or staff ID and passphrase in order to be recognized as an authorized user.

If you have been unsuccessful connecting to library resources, please review our troubleshooting suggestions below.

Log into the IU Login at https://cas.iu.edu/. When prompted to log in, enter:

  • Username
  • Password

If you cannot log into it, try resetting your password at https://passphrase.iu.edu/.

If you cannot reset your password, call the IT helpdesk at (574) 520-5555 to verify your status as a currently enrolled student, faculty, or staff member.
