The collection consists of materials in a variety of formats to support undergraduate and graduate education in Nursing.

Priority is given to current publications. Older materials are routinely weeded from the collection.

Reference
Reference material is selected by the subject librarian for the health sciences following the parameters of the collection policy.
Interdisciplinary Considerations
There is overlap in the collection of materials that support the health sciences programs. Standard medical reference sources apply to all areas of health science practice.
Location
Materials are housed primarily in the Schurz Library. The Weikamp Educational Resource Commons may also house related materials. Works specifically about the discipline are primarily classified in the RT schedule of the Library of Congress system. Many resources are available electronically through the library’s website.
Assessment
The library provides access to over 7,000 electronic journals covering health sciences with access to 478 titles specific to nursing. The library has 100% access to the top 30 journals listed by Journal Citation Reports, and Scientific Journal Ranking (SJR), and access to all of the 14 titles listed by the reference source, Magazine for Libraries (2019). In addition, the library provides access to streaming media collections and over 30,000 print and eBook titles covering health sciences. The library has adequate electronic indexes to support the programs:
