The goal of the One Book, One Campus program is to
encourage critical thought and discussion among members
of the IU South Bend Community. With this goal in mind,
the committee solicited suggestions from the campus,
and narrowed the list down to five titles. Criteria
for the final five were--the book be one which would
challenge and inspire, be in print and reasonably priced,
and have a wide crossover appeal, something which could
be discussed in a variety of classes. A campus vote
was held, and The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down
was the winner.
